Swedish Midsummer
The Swedish midsummer party in Ios, Greece is legendary. A day you will "not remember" - but never forget! You can find a couple of our crazy videos on our social media channels (facebook/youtube/Instagram) about the event. This summer we were featured by the biggest TV station in Germany. They produced a documentary about this truly special party, to check if the rumours were true. And they were not disappointed. What is so special about Swedish Midsummer? Well first of all, the drinking starts at 9am with a typical Swedish breakfast. Clubs open at 10 am (!!!!) and the small streets are full of people in bikinis and swim shorts, with Swedish flags and coloured in blue and yellow body paint. The madness within the main village of Ios continues until around 2pm, where everybody gathers and walks down to the beach. FarOut Beach Club (which you see in all of our videos) will be pumping after that. The party usually lasts from 10am until 8 - 10 pm (depends on how long you can last), before people head back to their hotel and charge the batteries for the night ahead. It might also happen that you will not wake up until the next morning, as the day is pretty tough on many people! :-) There is just this great energy about Swedish midsummer in Ios, because everyone makes the most of it, is looking forward to it, and gives everything. This really signifies the start of the peak season for the summer ahead. Good vibes, friendly people, very high chance of hooking up and great music with people from all over the world. Of course the LIABP crew has their midsummer routine (our first Swedish midsummer in Ios was back in June 2010). We would be more than happy to have all of you on board with us and make it a day that will create memories that last!
